Community-Based Mobile Crisis Team

The Community-Based Mobile Crisis Team operates around the clock to provide urgent mental health crisis support. Services are available to individuals experiencing:

  • Suicidal thoughts or plans
  • Danger to themselves or others
  • Severe mental health distress affecting their ability to provide for basic needs (food, clothing, or shelter)

The team prioritizes de-escalation and safety planning, offering support at home, in the community, or by phone when possible. Transportation can be arranged to a Crisis Unit or emergency room if needed. Services are available to everyone, regardless of insurance status.

Emergency and Crisis Coordination

911 Calls

If someone calls 911, they may be routed to the Mobile Crisis Team when appropriate, with law enforcement support if required.

Community Partnerships

Solano County coordinates with partners such as Vallejo’s IHART Community Response Team, operated by the Felton Institute, to enhance crisis response services.

988 Suicide Lifeline

If the 988 crisis line determines that Mobile Crisis support is needed, a warm handoff will be made to the Mobile Crisis Team

Reducing Trauma in Crisis Response

Solano County Behavioral Health has partnered with Medic Ambulance to provide community-based transport services, ensuring individuals in crisis are transported compassionately rather than in a police vehicle. This effort aims to reduce trauma and improve outcomes for individuals in crisis.

This program is funded by Solano County and the voter-approved Proposition 63, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), as outlined in the Integrated Three-Year Plan.
